New Faces in New York!

Becky, Ellie, and I learned just how much more was outside our door at the New York State Fair earlier this week! The National Beef Ambassadors were able to take over the BEEF culinary stage inside the Dairy Pavilion at the hub of the New York State Beef Council’s booth! Clad with beef pamphlets as far as the eye could see, an interactive prize wheel all about beef, and a cooking stage that put the FOOD Network to shame, the beef area of the dairy pavilion was a site for sore eyes! With recipes from Sumptuous Steak Stir Fry, Veal Chili, East meets West Flank Steak Wraps, and my personal favorite, Crispy Beef Lettuce Wraps with Wowee Sauce, the beef ambassadors were ready to take our cooking experience to a whole new level! We each practiced a bit before our trip and helped each other along the way. My practice included cooking my very first real meal for my boyfriend. Nate said it was good, and he walked away still healthy, so that was a confidence booster for me!!

It was hard work, but by the end of the trip we all felt accomplished and learned a few things about ourselves! Don’t let Ellie season your dish with pepper unless you remind her to just add a pinch. Don’t let me stir fry your beef, because I’m really not good at making it look pretty. And as for Becky, well she is a cooking queen and has rightfully earned her title as such!! It was hot hot hot in New York, but that didn’t stop the people from coming around our stage following their noses to the beef culinary stage at the top of every hour all day long! We were all a little nervous in the beginning, but by the end we were calling ourselves Rachel Ray and all of the other foodies on TV. Who knows, maybe we will have our own cooking show some day! It was really fun to pretend!

You can check out pictures on our facebook page! Look out soon for a video I’m going to produce all about the beef ambassadors in New York!!

Sin-steer-ly,

Malorie
